Art, Magic and Mediums at the Peabody Essex Museum
🎩✨ Our teens from Solstice took a magical adventure to the Peabody Essex Museum. They explored the “Conjuring the Spirit World: Art, Magic and Mediums”, Exhibition, which showcased the essential role art and objects played in the 19th- and 20th-century Spiritualism movement.Â
From paintings and posters to costumes and stage apparatuses, they discovered how mediums and magicians, like Harry Houdini, Margery the Medium and the Fox Sisters, communicated with the spirit world. Whether they were believers, skeptics, or somewhere in between, everyone walked away with a new perspective on the allure of séances and magic shows.
