Express Yourself Interns rock the studio!
Since 2009, EXYO has partnered with Endicott College and has hosted students as interns. Manninen Center for the Arts has been home to several outstanding Exyo exhibitions. This fall we hosted three Endicott interns who created and collaborated with original, success oriented art projects for our youth. Their work was characterized by their open hearts, compassion and contagious kindness.
Taylor Saunders is majoring in Art Therapy and has a passion for working with acrylic paint in abstract form. Spearheading our constellation project she introduced youth to pastel colors, chalk & their zodiac signs, Taylor seamlessly brings enthusiasm to her work and to the everyday life of the studio.
Ariana Turi is also majoring in Art Therapy but her passion lies with oil painting. She introduced our youth to zentangle design, using permanent marker to decorate silver plastic bottles that will be transformed into dazzling art deco chandeliers for our final performance in May. Ari selflessly lends her skills to make sure youth achieve success.
Gabriella Sorenson is charting her own path by majoring in Dance & Expressive Therapy and she specializes in Hip-Hop and Contemporary Fusion. In addition to working with the EXYO dancers, she led the Beverly Middle School youth in original choreography. Gabriella’s has an insatiable curiosity and takes on any challenge we send her way with determination and cheer.
We will miss their hard work and dedication and are pleased that they will continue on towards the exciting EXYO25 performance.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for our 25th Anniversary show on May 23rd, 2019! Don’t miss it!
