Native American Constellations Come to Life
The night sky is full of myths and legends. This year, the ExYo community youth are exploring the tale of The Great Bear, or The Big Dipper, with Native American educator and performer Annawon Weedon.
Annawon specializes in sharing his Narragansett/Pequot & Mashpee Wampanoag heritage with youth, and indeed our ExYo youth were mesmerized by Annawon’s storytelling and traditional drumming. With guidance from Annawon and longtime ExYo collaborator/narrator Richard King, our youth will pair celestial art, giant puppetry and physical storytelling to reveal the traditional story behind the stars.
Join us for our 25th Anniversary performance at the Boch Center-Wang Theatre on May 23rd, 2019.
Mark your calendars! Don’t miss it!
