Guest Artist Johnny Nichols Jr. Brings His Voice to the Studio
Express Yourself was thrilled to welcome opera singer and choral director Johnny Nichols, Jr. to the studio this past week. Born in Louisiana, Johnny has roots in church music, serving as choir director in ministries across the nation. Johnny led groups of Express Yourself youth through community building and vocal exercises. The youth were thrilled with his energy and were excited to participate in the session. To celebrate Soul, Johnny will help infuse the studio with sound where youth voices joined together. With a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Music Performance and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting, Johnny has established himself as a sought after sectional director for high school honors choirs and has an impressive performance career as a soloist and in chorus. We look forward to working with Johnny throughout the year as he helps to prepare youth for Soul on May 25, 2017 at the Wang Theater at the Boch Center.
