ExYo Mentors Rock!
Express Yourself’s peer mentors have been hard at work this year expanding their leadership skills, developing unique artistic projects, and assisting studio artists and their peers in the creative process. Returning mentors Haley, Christian and Geralda welcomed Salihyaa to the group, and were thrilled to be in studio after a hybrid period.
This month the focus is on Lyrical Portraits. Using WILD & FREE as an inspiration, the mentors explored how words resonate personally. Out of this exploration, they developed poetic writing and personal stories to create larger than life relief self-portraits.
Mentors uplift and encourage their peers in our multi-art sessions with their own unique positive leadership style, encouraging community building. Our mentors are an essential part of the ExYo team and it has been a joy to watch them grow into these roles.
