IMAGINE NATION Station: Week 8
We are at Week 8! The excitement is building for our virtual performance
“Come Together” May 21st, 2020 7:00pm
Doors open at 6:30 at exyo.org
Here are some activities to keep your creativity going during this next stay at home phase. We are so proud of all the HARD WORK that our kids are doing to prepare for this big event. Stay tuned!
MONDAY: Weekly Art Prompt
Create your own Imagine Nation Island
One of our favorite projects from the past year was Clay Islands, where our youth got to sculpt and mold clay into a giant island community.
Using the template above, create connections on each side of your island to connect to other ExYo youth’s IMAGINE NATION Islands. We will then put them together to build a new island community!
EXYO Youth: find this on page 10 of your packet

Materials:
- Black Pen, marker or sharpie
- ExYo Youth – find your birds on pg.3 of your packet
- If you don’t have a bird outline- download, trace or draw your own!

WEDNESDAY: Virtual Tour
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Today we invite you to explore the wonders of Hawaii through the magic of Google Earth and Google Arts and Culture.
Through these links you can see Hawai’i’s Volcanoes National Park from every angle- above, street level and even the inside of a lava tube. Go on a guided tour with a park ranger and discover the many different textures the islands have to offer.
Find a point of view that speaks to you- maybe it’s a birds eye shot of the big island or a close up of cooled lava…whatever it may be, get creative and make some art inspired by it. Or, if you haven’t already, use Monday’s art prompt to recreate your favorite spot on your very own island.
