Jewelry Making with Barbara Parker!
This past Thursday, guest visual and design artist Barbara Parker worked with our Beverly middle school group on jewelry making. Each youth got to create, design and take home colourful bead necklaces.
They worked with wax leather string, which allowed for easy knotting and braiding of the strings. For some of our youth, it was their very first time learning how to braid! Barbara did an awesome job of breaking down each step – our youth were amazed at how something that looked so elaborate turned out to be an easy and fun process!
We hope to have Barbara Parker back to work with Express Yourself and our middle schoolers again soon! And mark your calendars for May 21, 2020 for our annual performance IMAGINE NATION at the Boch-Center Wang Theatre. See you there!
